Indian Home Décor to Add to Your Home

Add a pop of color and texture to your home with these desi home décor finds

If you like adding bold colors and patterns to your home, look no further than my quirky Indian-inspired home decor finds. With its rich and diverse heritage, India has a treasure trove of design elements that can elevate any space.

Agarbatti Holders

An Indian house isn’t complete without Agarbatti holders and if you select the right one, it can act as an excellent home decor piece. I paired mine with a DIY floral arrangement to add a nice pop of colour to the entrance of my home. When creating floral arrangements opt for a nice urli bowl to add a lovely Indian aesthetic to your home.

Handmade Coconut Tea Cups

Coconut Tea Cups not only serve a function for sipping tea - but they make great storage options for bangles, bobby pins, floral arrangements and more. Why use ordinary storage, when you can use cute coconut tea cups that will also add a nice quirky touch to your home. I bought these ones from markets in Kerala, South India.

Hand-Painted Canisters

Get ready for a show-stopper. These hand-painted canisters from Picnic Folk not only will add a nice desi touch to your kitchen but also a pop of colour. By buying items from Picnic Folk, you will supporting years of traditions, which each piece hand-painted in Kashmir by traditional artists.

Hand-Painted Cocktail Shakers

If your bar cart is looking bland, a hand-painted cocktail shaker from Picnic Folk will do the trick. Take this to your next party and everyone will be asking you where you got it from.

Hanging Lanterns

A desi home isn’t complete with as many candles and lights. I picked up this blue lantern for my sister’s Mehndi and 3 years later, it’s still part of our home. This one does have more of a Moroccan feel but when paired with a nice Terracotta wall it adds a nice desi touch.

Tea in Vibrant Packaging

A great way to add color and texture to your tea stand is to find tea that comes in the most amazing packaging. This tea from Sancha Tea Boutique not only tastes amazing but comes in packaging featuring traditional Indian art. This will surely add a vibrant Indian aesthetic to your kitchen.

Embroidered Cushion Covers

These embroidered cushion covers caught my eye from across the road when I was in Udaipur and I’m sure it will also catch the eye of any guests you have over. The floral designs with modern colors will elevate any space in your home.

Warm Bedding

To add a modern desi touch to your bedroom, I would select warm bedding tones, such as this Terracotta & Rust Bedding Bundle from Bed Threads. I chose a warm colour as it reminded me of time in Jaipur. I then paired the look with dried palms and a tropical painting to add a pop of color (and it also takes me back to my time in Kerala).

Traditional Kulhad Cups

When I first bought traditional Kulhad Cups from Jaipur all I imagined I would be doing was drinking chai from them. Oh how wrong I was! These cups look great as vases for floral arrangements or candle holders for LED tealights.

Assouline Jaipur Coffee Table Book

Your morning coffee just got better with the Assouline Jaipur Coffee Table Book. Flicking through the pages of the most vibrant photos of Jaipur will not only put a sparkle in your eyes but also lift your coffee table game.

If you’re looking to add a bold Indian aesthetic to your home, select pieces that feature traditional Indian art or craftsmanship in bold colors and patterns. Select items that go with your style and will make you smile every time you look at them.
